Built for brains that feel differently
Energy RPG began with one question the founder couldn't answer: “How are you?” What started as a way to hack around alexithymia and executive dysfunction is now a health app built for real people and real life.
Why we built Energy RPG
Most health apps assume you can answer “how are you?” We assume you can't — not as a failure, but as the system failing to accommodate you. That's our starting condition. Alexithymia makes feelings hard to identify. Executive dysfunction makes organizing, initiating, and following through unreliable. Together, they make self-report a shaky foundation for healing.
These aren't rare edge cases. They co-occur across depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism, ADHD, eating disorders, and more — most mental health conditions that send someone to a healer.
From hack to app
Energy RPG started as a solo project — one developer with ADHD and alexithymia building the thing they needed and couldn't find. A way to walk into a session with something concrete to talk about.
The app reads HealthKit data your phone already collected — sleep, steps, workouts, heart rate — and turns it into something your brain actually wants to open.
“My ADHD, alexithymia, and executive dysfunction showed me how much therapy isn't built for brains like mine. I created Energy RPG to change that, so collaborating with your healer feels easier and actually works for you.”
How it works
Energy RPG reads your HealthKit data first — sleep, steps, workouts, heart rate — and only asks about the rest. It maps everything to a 7-tier energy scale from Frozen to Charred Husk. Health goals become quests with HP bars. Generate reports on your schedule — with up to two months of color-coded evidence.
The game layer is an accessibility feature for brains that need more reward signal than real life provides. It makes real life interesting enough to keep your attention.
Situational awareness for people who have a hard time putting their feelings into words.
